Also thought it was a bit pricey, but oh well.... whatever.... I'll never go back

The facility is excellent and the owners and staff are the best. A great getaway in a beautiful wooded retreat. You can rough it, or have all the amenities of a fine hotel.
I stayed here for the bear weekend and was pleasantly surprised by how much fun I had. The place is nice with plenty of things to see and do...., the people I met were all super friendly. I have never been to a gay campground but if they are all like this one I'll be making stops at gay campgrounds around me more often.
After two negative experiences the the proprietor of the resort I no longer consider Buckwood as a resort I would return to. I have spent the summer camping in Michigan, West Virginia and New York. While the distance to these three resorts (you probably know the names of them) makes the trip there and back brutal it is well worth every mile. As you arrive at any the three resorts you are greeted graciously and professionally, a far cry from the Indiana property. The grounds at the out of state resorts a deserving of 4 -5 star and the rates are comparable. There are many group activities including a pot luck for dinners every night. You will find no food in Indiana and the best you can hope in a 20 mile radius is Dairy Queen or McDonalds. Explore out of state you will be glad you did
one of the staff members was very Rude and had a disgusting attitude. that right there is one total turn off for me. Secondly the swimming pool , I would consider it filthy when you have a bunch of guys in the pool thats too small and you can see bits of suntan oil floating on the surface of the water. I think that's just nasty. make guys shower before getting in the pool.... keep it clean.
